Joe covered the entire kitchen floor with mortar before laying the tile. Which problem might he have encountered?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Laying a Patterned Tile Floor Spread mortar on the area to be tiled. Cover only a small area at a time, or the mortar may dry before the tile is laid. Lay the tile, starting from the middle of the area to be covered and working out. Partial tiles will be on the edges. Use spacers to leave an even space between each tile as you lay it. Spread grout in the spaces between each tile. Before the grout dries, wipe any excess grout from the tiles. This should be done within 15 minutes of spreading the grout, or the grout could stain the tile. Allow the tile to set for 24 hours before walking on the floor.

A. The mortar may have dried before the tile was laid on it. B. The tile may have been crooked. C. The tile may have been stained. D. The tile may have cracked.
