Find the surphace area of a cylander in terms of "PI" Photo attached

OpenStudy (anonymous):

#8

OpenStudy (rogue):

Just use the formula for the surface area of a cylinder.\[A_{cylinder} = 2 \pi r (r + h)\]Where r is the radius, h is the height.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oiy, um okay? so 2 PI2 (2+8)

OpenStudy (rogue):

Yeah, thats it for #8, now just simplify it. A = 2 * pi * 2 * 10 = 40 pi

OpenStudy (rogue):

Be sure to have the correct unit for area by the way, which for #8 would be cm^2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is 40 PI cm ^ 2 ?

OpenStudy (rogue):

Yup =)
