Can someone help confused thank you.A farmer has a rectangular field which measures 100 feet for the length and w feet for the width. If the perimeter is the sum of all four sides of the field, what is an expression for the perimeter of the field?

Directrix (directrix):

Opposite sides of a rectangle have the same measure. So, the field has two sides of length 100 feet and 2 sides of w feet where w is a variable representing the length of that side. Perimeter is the linear distance around the rectangle. So, p = 200 + 2 w feet or 2(100 + w) feet. Note that 2w and 200 are NOT like terms and the expression 2w + 200 cannot be correctly written as 202 w. |dw:1329968382217:dw|
