OpenStudy (anonymous):

give one real life example of each correlation: positive , negitives , and no correlation

OpenStudy (rulnick):

Positive: points scored and wins for a sports team. Negative: points allowed and wins. None: rainfall in zimbabwe and class size in NYC secondary schools.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

* Positive correlation: number of cigaretted smoked and chance to get lung cancer * Negative correlation: Age of a once living organism and amount of atoms of Carbon14 found in it's bones * No Correlation: time spent in the casino and the chance to win. (each game is independant, I know its hard to conceive that's why casino make monney) And an extra example of positive correlation: * the number of soft drink sold on a beach and the number of accident in the water. => This does not mean that drinking softdrinks will make you drawn. But it means that in sunny days more people go to the beach, swim and drink softdrinks.
