My topic for my research paper is all about marfan's syndrome. Do I still need to capitalize the 'M' in marfan everytime I state it in my paper?

Each subtopic should have a paragraph. The number of paragraphs depend on the number of suptopics you plan to right.

So you mean, for each subtopic, it usually needs to have a single par. but if I break it into tiny chunks (subtopics to support my subtopics), I can make it into 3 paragraphs?

Thats a bit more difficult. It depends on how much you have to write. Try to make it as even as possible with your oter paragraphs. Its alright if you merge two sub topics of a sub topic into a single paragraph if you feel that its too short compared to other paragraphs.
