What does no taxation without representation mean???????
the colonists were being taxed heavily by the British but they had no representation in Parliament so they felt this was unfair, and used this line to protest basically This is taxes, lol
Not really math...
Well it'll refers to the government taxing people, without giving them any representation in the government. The united states, which was a colony of Britian, was taxed enormously in order to supply money for the homeland of Britain. However, they didn't have any representatives in parliament. This angered the colonists, because they were paying money, but they still weren't looked after. that's what "Taxation without representation" is referring to.
So anyways the colonists decided they wouldn't stand for this and stated "no taxation without representation" which basically tells the brits: "thou shalt give me a representative in parliament and if you don't quit taxing me!!"
