Feature request- I was in a person's profile, and couldn't figure out how to get to a group. I see all the group chats below, and can open/minimize them, and expected to be able to click their titles to go to the groups, but no love there. I looked all over, and simply couldn't find a list of groups or "go to group" indicator... finally I noticed the tiny little triangle in the blue header, and saw that it dropped down to a list of my groups. Interestingly, the "Join More Groups" is very obvious, but to go to a group you are already in is very not obvious. Add a "jump to group..." there?

Or some kind of obvious way to get to other groups. From a person's profile there seems to be obvious way to get to a group you are in, even if you know about the small triangle.

We may be thinking two different things when you say someone's "profile." For instance, your [detailed] profile is at: http://openstudy.com/users/divonbriesen Unfortunately, much to the dismay of darthsid, there is no concept of groups on these pages. That's why they open in a new tab. I do agree that the blue dropdown is a little hard for some to recognize. We've heard that a good bit.

Also, a newly released feature allows you to switch to the group via the chat tab. Right along side each chat tab is a ticker that shows the number of new questions since you visited that group. Clicking on that tab will allow you to switch to groups, but it's not really the ideal (we are redesigning that currently, actually).

Mattf- to your first question- i am talking about the detailed profile. There must be the concept of groups in your data model, otherwise you wouldn't know which i'm in. So why not simply add that list to my profile (even if only available to me)- and make each one clickable- since this is evolving as a type of social media (social education? <sneaks off to see if socialeducation.com is available - already taken- sigh...>) you might expect users to go to their profiles often, or even as a starting point. Think of it as the dashboard for the site. There i could see which of my groups have backlogged questions, new members, etc... If nothing else, a drop down (i hate dropdowns) that's title "go to group...." and lists the groups your in, so that if your other tabs ARE closed, you can get to your groups.

I did just play with this feature you're talking about. I must say i'm impressed by how quickly you guys are rolling stuff out. Kudos for being agile! My rec would be to not pop up that whole box - since it's mostly redundant- it says x new questions, name of group, and a button go to this group- all of which is already in the chat dialog - except for the button. So why not just make the owls in the header of the chat be a hyperlink to the group itself? or, if hte chat window is open, a small link at the top or bottom "go to this group". Should be very easy, and you could dump that whole pop up, which is excessive for what it does.
