I guess everyone knows about Hitler, about his point of view and the great things he did. But before he became such a glorious man, what was he? I just knew that he was a beggar....anyone have more information?

He was a brilliant artist, but he was rejected because of his conduct.

Hitler was a decent artist and something of an aspiring architect, but while he could do scenes, many didn't have many people in them which was a major negative in his evaluation (any art student will tell you that learning how to render the human form is an important part of ongoing study) at the Vienna Academy of Art. Both interests would fuel his taste for art later on and would play a role in his association with architect Albert Speer. He was also a soldier in the first World War and won his Iron Cross there, though didn't rise above the rank of corporal as he wasn't very popular among his own soldiers. Germany's loss in the war also fueled his antisemitic beliefs (he blamed the Jews and Communists as scapegoats), something that he would use as a tool in the years in both his speeches and writings prior to his rise to power and which would ultimately lead to the murder of millions.
