and

14/21 = 13/y

y =39/2 = 19.5

okay so let's say i want to find y first then i would find the measure ment that would match up to it like
21 because 7 and 14 equal 21 and y = the bas of that whole triangle
so it would be y and 21

keep that in mind

now i would find another triangle that has all it's measure ments like the smaller triangle inside.
the one with the measurements 14 and 13
so i would set it up like this: base/ side =base over side
13/14=y/21
then you cross multiply
13* 21 and y * 14
273 = 14 y

divide by 14

y =19.5
