Find a function that is symmetric to the x-axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's a trick question. If it is symmetrical across the x axis it is not a function as there are y values for the one x value. This contradicts the definition of a function.

yea...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it cannot be a function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's right. a "function" means that you know what the output will be for any given input.

yea thats wht i was thinking... thanks.. do u think i did Ques. 5 okay?

The function y=0 is symmetric about the x-axis. ;)
