A cat is able to land on its feet after a fall. Why?

it is because of the law of conservation of momentum, the tail of the plays a great role in making a safe land ! if u through a cat down from a suitable height say 'h' it will land in a nice maaner but if u will cut it's tail and then through the cat from the same height that is 'h' then the cat will not land properly, because it is the tail of the cat which conserves the momentum and promises a safe landing, hope i answered the question !
