What happen during energy conversion? What are the criteria for energy conversion?
This question always me worried......
nothing, energy get converted, and there is no loss of energy
Ideally there shouldn't be any loss. But in real scenario there is always loss in energy conversion. That's why we have the term efficiency.
it depends on which conversion you are talking about. e.g if we talk about kinetic to pot. conversion, a particle is going up in air with some velocity, now this particle gonna slow down(which means its kinetic energy is dercreasing) cause gravity is acting on it, simultaneously the particle is going up(n which implies its pot energy is increasing),here energy is transforming by change in its motion and its dynamics.. you cannot visualise energy as some sort of glowing stuff transferring from one form to another.. it is tendency of any object to do work on something!!
i believe one criteria is a closed system
ash2326, man there is no loss in conversion, where can energy be lost while it is transforming from one form to another.. u are confused on energy transformation from one form to another with energy TRANSFER from ONE SYSTEM to another.. there is a difference..
the loss of energy is explained as : some part of the energy is converted into such forms which cant be used for useful purpose, such as heat or light or whatever the case is.......... this unusable energy is referred as the lost energy in general language ...........
well that guy is just asking about conversion of energy, and loss of energy is another case to deal with..
As I know energy conversion has alot of loss. and I am taking about daily energy conversion mechanical to sound energy, electrical to light energy..... what are the criteria of energy conversion.
Prakashj, according to you If energy conversion is so efficient then why when converting light energy into electrical energy at a Photo voltaic cell efficiency which reaches maximum is 22%, why the power plant efficiency is only 40 % . Tell me this..... Just tell me what happen within the peak point when the energy is about to convert
Yr, I never think in terms of only potential or kinetic energy, think in terms of energy and energy property is not to be stable, It means at every instant it will change its dimension which we know as energy conversion. I want to know why the dimension of energy changes and how it changes.
yaar see if you guys are talking about practically converting energy into some another form to used somewhere, then you can use the word "loss" for the the amount of energy you are not getting for ur purpose.. but fundamentally saying the energy which has been lost(in ur terms) hs been converted in some another less useful form...
anyway your later question is not so clear "what happen within the peak point when the energy is about to convert"..? and are you talking bout dimensions like \[ML^{2}T^{-2}\]
The dimension of energy, which make it like a electric energy has charge, electric field, magnetic field within it but when it get converted these all property changes
