An oil drop is held at rest in between two horizontal parallel plates connected to a potential difference of 600v.The separation between the plates is 2.0cm.if the oil drop carries two fundamental charges, what is the weight of the oil drop?state the assumption that you have made in calculation.someone please guide on how ro do this :)

OpenStudy (jamesj):

There are two forces acting on the oil drop: gravity and electric. Clearly the two cancel each other out. So write down an expression for each of the forces and set them equal to each other. Then you will be able to solve for the mass \( m \).

OpenStudy (jamesj):

So what is the gravitational force on the oil drop?
