The number of quadratic equations having real roots and which do not change by squaring their roots? (a)4 (b)3 (c)2 (d)1

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

ones with roots (1,1), (1,-1), (-1,-1) do we include (0,1) and (0,-1)?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

oh - we cant include -1 because that changes to 1 so maybe the answer is (1,1) and (0,1) what about x^2 = 0 with roots (0,0) ?? lol - im not sure!!

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

i guess the answer is 3
