are all metal oxides acidic..???

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

Not all metal oxides not acidic , some are amphoteric also and some are basic in nature!!

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

it also depends on electronegativity of metal ion and also charge on metal ion!!!!which alters the covalency and ionic properties of compounds

I made a mistake..I should have asked that question as are all metal oxides are basic...? since metal oxide react iwth acid to form salt +water.....Thanks for the info...so metal oxide depends on the electronegativity of metal and can behave as acidic, basic or neutraline..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think so any metal have acidic oxide............ alumia which is aluminum oxide is amphoteric but usually metals have basic oxides.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so fellows, I don't think so we have any acidic metal oxide
