does cos^(2)3x+sin^(2)3x=1?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Yes, in general \[\Large \cos^2(z)+\sin^2(z) = 1\] for all values of z If you want, replace '3x' with 'z' (ie z = 3x) and you'll get the identity above.
