pls help me solve : 1/x^2 - 3 = 8/x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply everything by x^2: and you get; 1-3x^2=8x add 3x^2 to both sides and subtract 1 from both sides: 0=3x^2+8x-1 now you can plug this in to the quadratic formula, and figure out what x is equal to.

\[x=(-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac})/2a\] ^ quadratic formula!

ok thank you ...I will try it
