Can someone help me sorry to bother. If a car skids to a stop over the distance of 80 feet, find the speed of the car. Use the formula,s=√24d where s = speed and d =distance. Round your answer to the nearest whole number.

OpenStudy (phi):

I assume the equation is \[s=\sqrt{24d} \] with the d inside the square root. They are asking what was the speed of the car when it started skidding. according to their formula speed = sqrt(24*80) we can type sqrt(24*80)= in google's search window to get 43.82 (rounded) to round to the nearest whole number, look at the tenths place. It is 8, so round up to 44 speed = 44
