1/4(2x-14)=4

Step 1. Get rid of the denominator 1 = 16(2x-14) Step 2. Multiply 16 by the stuff in parenthesis 1 = 32x - 224 Step 3. Leave x on one side and move constants to the other side a. 1 + 224 = 32x It's also valid to bring x to the left side and move constants to the right side, like so b. -32x = -1 -224 Step 4. I don't like to deal with negative numbers so I will go with the first solution 225 = 32x Step 5. Divide both sides by 32 to get the value of x 225/32 = x (or x = 225/32)
