If 5^x=y, then 5^(2x)=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(5^x)=y 25^x=(5^x)^2 or (5^2)^x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5^(2x) = 5^x * 5^x = y * y = y^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

obviously if you see that 25^x=(5^x)^2, you can substitute y for (5^x) and get y^2

Directrix (directrix):

(25) ^ x = [ (5) ^2 ]^x = [5^x] ^ 2 = y^2 given that 5^x = y
