solve the following differential equation y^4+2y^3+11y^2+18Y^1+18=0 given y(0)=2,y^1(0)=3,y^2(0)=-1,y^3(0)=-23

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought differential equations have prime and double prime in them ? so is it differential or normal eqution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is differential equation and i am finding difficulty in finding its roots since it 4th degree! any method you know to find roots of 4th degree equation?

OpenStudy (nikvist):

Do you mean \[y''''+2y'''+11y''+18y'+18y=0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that was what i was thinking haha.....correct nikvist if not i not too sure how to solve.....
