Example 1: Find the perimeter of a triangle with vertices (2,4) (-1,3) and (2, -3). (show your work on graph paper) I got an answer of 7+ 3 sqrt(5) + sqrt(11) which is in simplest radical form. Is that correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use pythagoras theorem to find length of each line sqrt(1^2 + 3^2) = sqrt 10 is one line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't because its not a right triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are forming a right-angled triangle i'll draw it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i understand what you are saying now. you split the triangle into two right triangles right?
