Nancy drew parallelogram ABCD as shown. Parallelogram ABCD with coordinates A(3, 1), B(6, 1), C(9, 5), and D(6, 5). On the same grid she will draw parallelogram PQRS similar to parallelogram ABCD with the ratio of corresponding side lengths PQ and AB equal to 3 : 1. If the coordinates of vertex P are (-3, 4), what could be the coordinates of vertex Q?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiple by 3 and 1 (x to y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that doesn't explain the relationship between P and A though.. but I was thinking that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(6,4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the ratio is 3:1.. and the length of AB is 3 then the length of PQ needs to be 9... the coordinates are (6,4) :)

ur a life saver!!
