Which of the following has a graph that is wider than the graph of y = 3x² + 2? y = 3x² + 3 y = 0.5x² + 1 y = –4x² – 1 y = 4x² + 1

It is the second one. Remember the coefficient before the (x) stretches the graph's width. A smaller coefficient will give you smaller y-value for ever x-value, which means the function gets flatter and wider. So we know the coefficient for (x) must be smaller than 3. It can't be -4x^2 because, that would just be an upside down version of positive 4x^2

thanks.... that's a good explanation
