The ratio of boys to girls in Year 8 is 5 : 6. If there are 72 girls in Year 8, what is the total number of students in the year level?

boys = 5 girls = 6 or 72 ... find 1 part 72/6 = 12... 1 part in the ratio is 12 boys = 5 x 12 = 60 then the year has 60 + 72 = 132 students
