x^6+3x^3 what is the number of terms and degree

OpenStudy (chriss):

there are two terms and the degree is 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

terms just means anything you can't add together. Since you can't add x^6 with 3x^3, you have two terms. Degrees just means the power of each term is raised to: x^6 has 6 degrees x^3 has 3 degrees so you can just say it has 6^degrees, since x^3 would be included in the 6 degrees.
