the value, v, of a shopkeepers inventory software program is given by v=1/2t+3, where t is the number of years since the shopkeeper bought the program. what is the program worth after 4 years after it was purchased? graph the point that shows what the program was worth 4 years after it was purchased. Basically i need to know how to graph and solve thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the value is 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how would i graph it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you plug in the values for t.. until you reach t=4 when t is one v=3.5 when t is two v=4 when t is three v=4.5 when t is four v=5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

make the x=axis be time in years, and the y axis be the value.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The line should have a y-intercept at 3.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and has a slope of 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the equation would be y=(x/2)+3.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you :)

your welcome :)
