OpenStudy (msmr):

Determine the percent of the population that shows the dominant phenotype if the allele frequency of the dominant allele is 0.8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it is homozygous then 0.8 x 0.8 = 0.64 which is 64% heterzygous then 0.8 x 0.2 x 2 = 0.32 which is 32% I am not 100% sure, so wait for other people's answers :)

OpenStudy (msmr):

hmm the answer in my textbook is 96%, but i have no idea how to get there...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes my answer is also 96% 64% + 32% = 96% :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz both heterozygous and homozygous are dominant, so u have to add them together the one that is left is the recessive which is 4%

OpenStudy (msmr):

ohhhh that makes sense haha thank you! i didn't go that extra step.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np ;)
