Find the scale factor, and the values of the variables.

Directrix (directrix):

What do we know about the triangles? their relationship - similar?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, similar.

Directrix (directrix):

I can't work without Letters.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:P I got y= 10.5 x & z=7.5

Directrix (directrix):

What proportions did you use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9/5=13.5/x

Directrix (directrix):

That would be P'F/PG = AP'/DP. I totally don't get why that would be true.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then I don't understand what to do.

Directrix (directrix):

With all respect, it seems that you eye-balled some segments you thought should go together and cranked out some values. We need the theorems to back us up. No eye-balling.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright

Directrix (directrix):

I think my hang-up is that I don't know how to interpret the P and then the P' in the same diagram. P' is the image of P but I don't know under what dialation factor. Not yet, anyway.

Directrix (directrix):

I think y = 11. Do you have any answers?

Directrix (directrix):

is there only one letter in your book that has the ' mark beside it. The only one I see is P and then P'
