The car would just overtake the bus when the distance they travelled are both the same. Let the time taken for car to overtake bus be T. At T, the distance travelled by bus and car is the same. At T, the area under the graph for both bus and car would be the same. With these 2 observations, formulate your equations, as such. Distance of car = distance of bus 0.5*10*20 + 20 *(T-10)= 16*T 100 + 20T - 200 = 16T 4T= 100 T= 25 The car would have just overtaken the bus at 25s
