OpenStudy (anonymous):

xy = 60 x + y = -17 Can you do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, ive never learned that, were sappposed to guess and check, but i cant figure it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a hint is that they have to both be negative if their product is positive and their sum in negative

OpenStudy (istim):

Re-arrange the bottom so that everything equals either x or y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Start with the factors of 60, you'll find it pretty soon...

OpenStudy (agreene):

another hint, there are two answers.

OpenStudy (istim):

I didn't know, agreene...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uuuuuhh...

OpenStudy (agreene):

well, if you consider numbers as pairs--i suppose if you are correct there are 2 numbers... 2 ordered pair solutions (with the same 2 numbers)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (agreene):
