I'm not pretty sure what topic it is how can oceans affect the characteristics of air mass?

Well, air masses are defined by vapor content and temp, and assume the characteristics of whatever surface they're covering. So I would say oceans create an air mass with temperature relative to proximity to the equator with high humidity (vapor content). I haven't done too much research on air masses but this is my take on it.
