slope or slope intercept? please explain

OpenStudy (pokemon23):

Used the equation y=mx+b to find the slope intercept

OpenStudy (pokemon23):

You can also you rise over run ;D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope = how stiff the line is = difference of y / difference of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, pokemon23 :) I'm trying my best to explain in plain language :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Intercept is where the line cuts the coordinate! So y intercept is where straight line cuts y axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That what defines y = mx + b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks guys and what about when we have the perpendicular or parallel stuff?
