a flower pot falls from rest to the ground below. if the mass of the pot is m and its initial energy height is h, which statement below is correct? a. the KE of the pot when it hits the ground does not depend on m b. he KE of he pot when it hits the ground is proportional to h. c. he speed of he pot when it hits the ground depends on m d. the speed of the pot when it hits the ground is proportional to h e. none of the above alternatives are correct.

i have a feeling the answer would be C.

I think d is correct

No, thats a popular misconception like aristotle's physics. Aristotle, while a great man, is totally and utterly wrong about physics. Mass has nothing to do with rate of fall. The answer is B. If you remember, the equation for potential energy is \[U=mgh\] and at the bottom potential energy is converted to Kinetic energy. Therefore U=KE at the bottom. \[U=KE=mgh\] D is also correct. There is more height, therefore according to kinematic equations. \[v_f^2=v_i^2+2ad\]

actually v final and h are not directly proportional so the answer should just be b
