What is one similarity and one difference between an altitude and a median of a triangle? I know that A median of a triangle is a line segment joining a vertex to the midpoint of the opposite side. And that the Altitude of a triangle is a straight line through a vertex and perpendicular to the opposite side or an extension of the opposite side.
Medians and Altitudes always emanate from a vertex of a triangle. Medians are drawn to the midpoint of the opposite side. Altitudes are draw perpendicular to the line containing the opposite side. So, sometimes altitudes fall outside the triangle. Medians always fall inside the triangle.
median is the line through the middle of aside to the opposite angle while altitude is the perpendicular to the angle from the side
Thank you both! :)
