lim(x->-2) (x+2)/(x^3+8)... how do I get an answer without it being undefined?

factor out (x^3+8)..it's a sum of cubes

if you want the process..it goes like this:

x^3 + 8 = (x^3 + 2^3)

so

(x+ 2)(x^2-2x + 4)

so x+2/(x+2)(x^2-2x+4)

cancel x + 2

1/x^2-2x+4

substitute

1/(-2)^2 -2(-2) +4

1/4+4+4

1/12
