it's more of a problem with the whole course than a single question :(

Well unfortunately I don't think you're very likely to find someone here who specializes in that particular application of math.
It's also unlikely that anyone here wants to tutor on the same topic for a long period of time.
The best advice I can give is to try to find the mathematical techniques that are troubling you, then ask about them here.
