I could use some help here: The formula for finding the area of a triangle is where b is the base of the triangle and h is the height of the triangle. The area of a triangle is 72 square feet and the height is 16 feet. What is the base of the triangle?

Hey amistre64 Long time no see :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

72 = 1/2 b 16

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a few hours at best :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

b=9 maybe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm What makes you think b = 9ft

OpenStudy (amistre64):

becasue thats the only thing thatll fit in for b to make the equation true

OpenStudy (amistre64):

\[72=\frac{16b}{2}\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

8*? = 72 ... id say 9
