How to find circumference given the diameter using pi

OpenStudy (rulnick):

C = pi times diameter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C=PiD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 1.8840

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what was D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.5

OpenStudy (rulnick):

If diameter is 1.5 (or 3/2) then circumference is 3pi/2. Be careful, pi is NOT 3.14. If you replace pi with a decimal, you are approximating the answer. The only exact answer is with pi as pi.

OpenStudy (rulnick):

So circumf here is approx. 4.71238898..., or exactly 1.5pi or 3pi/2.
