Since I never got all of the final answers to my question the first time, I'll ask again. Simplify the expression and state the excluded values. <- (Answer both parts, please!) (z^2-4z-77)/(z^2-13z+22)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

factor both the numerator and denominator to get: (z-11)(z+4)/(z-11)(z-2) then you can cancel out the quantity (z-11) and therefore, the leftover quantities are: (z+4) and (z-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So is the answer (z+4)/(z-2)? Also, what are the excluded values?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(z+7)/(z-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(z) can never be 2 or else it will be undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ jerwyn gayo: So they made a mistake? The answer is (z+7)/(z-2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah. but' consider it as a simple mistake. .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK, that's fine. Thank you.
