How do I simplify x+y/18xy - 6x+y/18xy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since you have the same denominator for both terms, you just combine the terms in the numerators. So x+y -(6x+y) becomes -5x So now you have -5x/18xy which can be reduced to -5/18y
