where are we headed to if bullying actually happens on OS... first time I'm "hearing" this... how long has bullying existed on Openstudy? and who are the bullies?

just so everyone knows it wasnt " oh your stupid" no over and over again i was called "gay" and was told that my user name "iloveboys" was stupid and that i was a man a owletet and needed to die. that i was a waste of space.

i think its messed up cuz u can get kicked for saying F*G but not for being bullied and isnt there supposed to be mods on at all times?

there u go, well they aren't on all the time but until we push for a change, things will remain the same, we just have to be careful though. this is the internet and such things are bound to happen. since this is the feedback group, I hope the message is heard and something can be done about it :) it's good you came back anyways, glad to have u back :) <3

Well just report and it should be dealt with that user, too bad mods doesn't report about their actions to user who actually reported

Hey guys! I didn't see anything in my email about this. I did a search for your username and I didn't see any reports on bullying but I haven't been a mod "forever" so... I know we don't allow it and if someone is doing it they will be stopped one way or another, but sometimes you need to make us aware that this stuff is happening by reporting abuse. If you see someone being bullied or you yourself is being bullied, please hit that report abuse button and then just ignore them. (I think ignoring someone like this is the best choice. Just let us deal with it). I know it is hard to ignore sometimes but believe me they will get what's coming to them if they are guilty.

I'm sorry iloveboys that you have been having trouble on OpenStudy. OpenStudy is suppose to be a positive fun loving studious social community.

I might add that if you report abuse and nothing seems to have been done OR if it seems like the user has come back using a different name, let us know. Usually there is at least one mod in any given chat, so just holler at us and we will take care of it because you are right, bullying should not be allowed here, and it isn't, but we can't catch 100% of everything that goes on and sometimes abuse reports slip by. So in the future if abuse reports don't seem to be working, find a mod.

Hey iloveboys, we're taking this really seriously. Bullying is NEVER okay, and we mods and admins DO NOT WANT IT HAPPENING. I'm so sorry that you went through this.

Like myin and jagatuba said, there haven't been any recent abuse reports from you, so I don't know what happened there. When you say nothing happened, do you mean that the report went through and nothing was done, or that you couldn't report it?

If this happens again, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE report the abuse immediately, get a mod's attention, something. The global mods can get in touch with the admins if we aren't online.

Hey everyone - iloveboys I'm extremely sorry this happened to you. I can assure you that what happened to you is against everything OpenStudy stands for. As others have said, we do have mechanisms in place to deal with issues like this - but if they don't work, or you don't see a response, please email us at abuse@openstudy.com. As @sasogeek mentioned - if we need to change the policy around coverage we absolutely will. Also, we ARE implementing other ways of getting mods' attention - especially in cases like these where it's not a direct word or comment, but a continued, harassing behavior.

Again, my sincerest apologies that this happened to you, and feel free to contact me at any time with your concerns. And thank you for bringing this up here - perhaps others have had this experience and haven't spoken up. Myself and all the moderators on OpenStudy will work to ensure that this sort of thing never happens again to you @iloveboys. Thank you.

Omg, thank you to everyone. And thank you saso for saying something, i didn't speak up because i didnt know there was and OS feed back lol duh. ugh, i just want to say that im very great full and i did hit abuse a few times but i guess it may not of registered again just thank you to everyone. Thank you all again, so much. And some kids got kicked off for 4 days due to making fun of me... so again thank you. omg. thank you so much.

she also said it happened few weeks ago, so you may want look into more older reports
