When I log on to OpenStudy while I'm on campus (Texas A&M University) I appear to have moderator rights of the Physics group. I can kick users and delete other's questions and chat messages. However, when I log on from home (off campus) I do not.
It's just coincidence when you login from ur campus you are the highest level in the group so you are mod, when you go home it's probably evening so more higher level users come and you are not highest level anymore
I see. I wasn't aware of that feature. I thought maybe it was a bug with the IP address on campus.
So u have to be highest level to be mod o_O?
Being the highest level in a group makes you a group mod with limited privileges (kick and delete).
I see. Thats awsome :o
Yes that is xD
Greetings eashmore, Unless it is our "Texas Admins & Mods" university campus, I regret to inform you that it was just a coincidence, as others have pointed out. Thanks, Darthsid Chief Moderadministratorosaurus
how long does it kick you for btw? jw
When someone uses the kick button, the kick happens and that is it. The person can return right afterwards. It is almost as if you click "leave group" button for them and then they can just join it after leaving it except someone is hitting that leave button for them.
So it kinda slaps them back into line :P
Kicks are meaningless to have I think anyways. It does nothing except makes a person leave for a second. And if someone is kicking random people and one of those random people happen to be answering a question, then it is really an abuse of the kick power. My opinion honestly is that we don't need that button.
But that is just my opinion... Anyways your question...what line are you talking about?
line to have group moderator powers? Then the answer is no it doesn't change the the line-up for that.
If you are talking about their attitude, I think that is suppose to be the point of it. I don't know if it actually keeps them in line or not though as I do not use it.
well it was removed but others wanted it back so it's added again and you want to remove it again?! :D btw nice new pic :P
lol thanks tomas it doesn't matter to me just don't kick me
The line was behaving xD like if someone is spamming you kick back into line :P so they stop xD
Yes hopefully that adjusts their behavior. If not then use the report abuse option.
