Tara drew the figure on a coordinate grid as shown to represent the front portion of a stage. Point P represents the position of one of the lights on the stage and point O represents the center of the stage. What is the shortest distance between point P and point O rounded to the nearest hundredth? Answer 1.73 2.00 2.24 3.00
id say thts it 2.00
Do you know how to find the distance between 2 points? there is a formula you use: \[ d= \sqrt{ (x_2-x_1)^2 + (y_2-y_1)^2 } \] You have point P at (-1,2) and point O at (0,0) can you do this? Here is a video that might help you http://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra/ck12-algebra-1/v/distance-formula BTW, the answer is not 2
2.24 is the right answer. (FLVS Student)
