\[Area=\frac{\theta r^2}{2}\]

OpenStudy (amistre64):

2pi being the full theta of a circle we get: Area = 2pi r^2/2 = pi r^2

One full circle is 360 degrees. Since that sector in the circle is 75 degrees. What you want to find is the other (360-75) = 285 degrees using proportion that is, 285/360=0.791 Finding the area of the circle with the formula pi * r^2, pi * 3^2 = 28.27 Area of the green potion = 28.27*0.791= 22.4 square inches
