(a) is y = SQRT(x-1) - essentially same as (b). These are tedious to graph. You should look at some basic points. Since square root of a negative number is not real, you can ignore all values of x that product a square root of a negative number. Then, graph values of y for various values of x in both (a) and (b) cases.
