Who checks the emails at abuse@os.com? i emailed about a week ago. Havn't got a reply yet. Thanks.
Saifoo, that email address goes to several of us. I thought it had already been handled by the time I saw it. I'll look into your original email now. Apologies for the delay.
Ok. thanks.
And there's a username named wasiq. His account has been trolled several times past today. Another user of OS made those accounts. The user was also suspended before.
Does the dialog box address the issue of why the user was banned?
Dialog box? which user?
I'd like to know why I was reported a couple of minutes ago. Apparently I had exited the box rather quickly and only caught a glimpse of "You have been issued a warning" and "End of Discussion".
I have been warned past this week twice for no reason.. And i want to know what's the reason behind this and who's doing all this.
i mean i want to know the reason.. rest things dont matter.
Katrina: Your warning wasn't for a CoC violation. It was just something the moderator in the chat wanted to communicate to you about the conversation you were in at the time. Check your email. You should have a copy sent there. Essentially, the mod felt like the discussion was getting out of hand and felt it was time for a topic change.
saifoo: We already know about that and we have been issuing suspensions and IPBans.
I have already checked for an e-mail Farm and nothing is to be found.
spam box... checked that?
None at all.
KatrinaKaif: < headscratch > Well that's no good. I apologize. Our email service has been on the fritz lately. I'm working up a reply to saifoo's email right now. After that I'll shoot you an email with the contents of your warning so you can see the message.
"I thought it had already been handled by the time I saw it." get more controllable system than emails? everyone can always say same thing as I remember not first time happening
Tomas, things are going to slip through the cracks no matter what system we use. I'd personally prefer to invest our money in technologies that make the product better (something 100% of our users will appreciate) than streamlining the process for appealing moderator actions (something 0.5% of our users will appreciate). It's all about priorities. That said, if anyone claims that they have emails abuse@openstudy.com and have gotten no response whatsoever - then you need to direct them to find me on the site and let me know.
