evaluate..... limit (when x approaches 0) ((9^x)-(5^x))/x

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

are you allowed to use L'Hospital?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

what about algebraic manipulation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no I don't think so. Its just a calculus 1 question you know

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

algebraic manipulation is calculus 1 i think...maybe using logarithms? no?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mmmm you're probably right , I think it would be possible to use algebraic manipulation, but not log. but anyway don't bother yourself its fine .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well ...the answer is log(9/5) ... but I used L'Hospital

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, I think using log is much easier, thanks all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you could use numerical approximation ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

make x close to zero from L and R of zero ( 0.00001) and (-.00001)
