The length and width of a rectangular enclosure at the zoo for the giraffes is 59 feet and 23 feet, respectively. In order to make room for the addition of more giraffes in the enclosure, the zoo is increasing the width of the enclosure by 12 feet. How much more room will the giraffes have in their enclosure once the expansion is complete?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A = LW----> 59*23 = 1357. The new area is 59(23+12) = 2065.
