how does inactivation of the x chromosome affect the expression of sex-linked traits in females help!!

Have you seen calico cats? The reason for such spoted colour of hair / fur is X-inactivation. X-inactivation is random. occur at early in development. And maintained in cell division. So daughter cell will inactivate same X chromosome which is inactive in mother cell.
